The album – named after Swift’s birth year – will be in stores Oct. 27 and is available for “pre-buy” now at www.taylorswift.com.
During a live video stream on Yahoo.com on Monday afternoon, Swift said that in the two years since she released her last album “Red,” she grew and changed in a way that made it necessary for her to change her style of music.
“I woke up every single day that I was making this record, not wanting but needing to make a new style of music than what I had ever made before,” she said. “Essentially what ended up happening is we made the most sonically cohesive album I’ve ever made. I made my favorite album I’ve ever made.”
