Naomi Watts:”The Impossible”
From the Toronto Film Festival, where it was presented in world premiere, arriving good positive reactions (with some lone voice) about this anticipated The Impossible, the second movie by Juan Antonio Bayona, who in 2007 had directed the excellent The Orphanage. Some speak of matter from Oscar, also with regard to the protagonists, Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor.
Written by Sergio G. Sanchez, The Impossible is based on the tragic events that occurred in 2004, when the tsunami struck the coast of Thailand. It is the story of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural disasters of our time. But the terror is tempered by the unexpected demonstrations of compassion, courage and simple kindness that Maria, Henry and their children discover during the darkest hours of their lives.
