Mtv Ema in Frankfurt triumph Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber
Taylor Swift and the inevitable – but absent from the awards – Justin Bieber are the winners of the 2012 EMA, the MTV Europe Music Awards, delivered Sunday evening in Frankfurt.
At the end of a fireworks display, made of torches, acrobats, cascades of sparks, fire circles, laser and light walls immersed in a setting reminiscent of a circus, Swift, 23 in December, took home three awards – best artist female, best live and look better – while Justin Bieber won in the categories best Male Artist, best New Artist and Best pop MTV World Stage concert. Best song is “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen.
A blow up the Festhalle, Frankfurt arena built in the early twentieth century in which they occurred, the nineteenth EMA, however, was the South Korean rapper PSY. Dancing in his video Gangnam style with German top model Heidi Klum, charming presenter of the evening involves David Hasselhoff in an unusual cameo – the actor from Baywatch and Knight Rider sings the Gangnam style in a portable toilet – goes on stage sixty of non-professional guys dressed like him in the video-smash (blue jacket, white shirt and glasses blacks), while thousands of smartphones in the room did not deviate from the stands and he is the triumph of the dance of the horse.
Gangnam style also won the award for best video of the year, almost taken for granted recognition to a video on YouTube has already pulverized every record in terms of “like”.
Great disappointment of the evening Rihanna, who even does not collect a prize, although he had collected on the eve six nominations.
