The purpose of the operation is the collection of funds in favor of the non-profit organization Artists Project Earth (APE), responsible for raising awareness on natural disasters caused by climate change and established soon after the 2004 tsunami. Since the inception, it has aimed to involve musicians ideologically close to the cause and willing to support firsthand the intent of the project. Very active in this sense, for example, has always been Thom Yorke – Radiohead’s leader – who said recently: ‘We need a law, we need a government that fits in its programs on climate change. If the industry is expected to deal with it voluntarily, this will never happen. So anyone with an interest in solving the problem of climate change must manifest its official government because this is the only way forward ‘. As usual, the best known names in international music scene, the disc includes the presence of local musicians. In this case, the album was assembled using the African musicians in Mali Toumani Diabate, Bassekou Kouyate, Ali Farka Touré, Rokia Traoré and Band.
