Become more aware of and have confidence in yourself is the message contained in the new album of Alicia Keys, “Girl on Fire”, which opens today (November 27) in record stores. The fifth CD of the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist U.S. comes three years after the previous “The Element of Freedom” (2009).
“This album – says Keys – tells how we can become aware of their inner strength, releasing negative energy and taking full control of their lives. Finding your voice, wild, trust their instincts and of themselves.”
As stated in the official press release, “the album contains an exciting mix of sounds that Alicia discovered while recording and traveling the world, from Jamaica to London, all wrapped up in its roots in New York City.” Driven by the voice of Alicia and her piano, the songs of “Girl On Fire” are enhanced by effective battery, electric sounds, reggae and soul.
The CD contains 13 tracks, produced with artists such as the Krucia, Babyface, author and vocalist Jeff Bhasaker, Gary Clarke Jr., the emerging Pop & Oak and the phenomena of English music LMFAO and Jamie XX.
