A Prequel for The Shining?
The treatment of the prequel may soon find a good new name: the one in The Shining, unforgettable film in 1980 directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicholson in a master.
To make the new movie, Warner Bros. has already involved the writer-producer Laeta Kalogridis (involved in projects such as Avatar and Shutter Island), along with his business partner Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt would carry the usual well-informed anonymous source facts of the microphone at the Los Angeles Times.
The prequel would focus on what happened before Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) arrived with his family nell’Overlook Hotel, bringing insanity to everyone we know well. Naturally everything for now remains a mere rumor, associated with what used to be wanted instead to create a sequel to The Shining.
Of course, unfortunately we will not see Stanley Kubrick’s work, nor probably will be involved in the new Jack Nicholson movie, which we hope can still do justice to what in the past two decades has become a landmark of cinema.
