007 destroyed 15 cars during the shooting of Skyfall
For Skyfall, the next film in the saga of James Bond out in November, the production had some troubles… Besides having made room for two typical British brands – Jaguar and Land Rover as – inserted into the script half a dozen Volkswagen New Beetle and an elegant Audi A5. Of this last car, driven by 007 in the film, Daniel Craig, to complete the shooting have been destroyed 15 identical copies. The new James Bond has also decreed the return of the glorious Aston Martin DB5 license plate BMT 216A that passes back the hands of Sean Connery (who had first used in Goldfinger) to those of Daniel Craig, star of Skyfall.
This car, already used in other films of 4 007 (Sean Connery in Thunderball, by Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies and finally from the Daniel Craigh in Casino Royale), is evidently a specimen other than the first DB5 and rebuilt on which are subject to a replica plate BMT 216A. A Jaguar XJ, with blue lights flashing, appears in scenes filmed in London and a Range Rover Vogue is one of 007 personal cars, which, however, sits at the wheel but not driving.
